For family home evening, we went for a walk. We took a bunch of pictures that I want to share.
Do you know what this is? They call it a tricycle! It's a motorcycle with a sidecab so that other people can ride in it. The driver gets paid money to drive people around.
This is the inside of the car of the tricycle.
This is a pedicab. It is the same principle as the tricycle except that instead of a motorcycle on the side, it's a bike.
Some of the houses are weaved with bamboo or palm. Sometimes they get different colors and make a design out of it. It is really cool. The woven houses also let the breeze through a little which makes it REALLY cool! ;-)
When we walk around, little kids just follow us. They wanted us to take a picture of them. So we did!
There are coconut trees here! It was so cool. I can't wait to see the coconuts when they are ripe and falling down. (I hope one doesn't fall on my head)
In family home evening, one thing we do is called pineapple time. We take turns "pineapple-ing" someone for something good they have done. When my dad "pineappled" us that night, he gave each of us a fresh pineapple! I couldn't finish the whole thing. They were SO good and THE PINEAPPLE DIDN'T MAKE MY TONGUE SORE!

I tell you, those were the best pineapples I have ever had! I haven't had one in at least two weeks, which I consider extremely unfair. I have been "pineappled" each week, but still, no pineapple! I don't know about you, but to me that seems totally unjust!
ReplyDeleteWow, those coconut trees are so cool! You'll have to climb one, pick a coconut and then chop it open with a machete!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog Joshua! I check it every few days. I can hardly wait to hear how you like the coconuts. We had them in front of our house in Hawaii and I loved them fresh and liked to drink the green ones.
